Dental Care for Infants and Toddlers in Rialto, CA

Good dental health begins early. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that when your child’s first tooth comes in, usually between the ages of 6 and 12 months, it’s time to visit a pediatric dentist. At Magicland, we believe that early dental care is so important to your baby that we offer complimentary dental exams for children under two.

At your infant’s checkup, we’ll check teeth, gums and jaw to make sure everything is just right and no problems are developing. Your child’s baby teeth are very important, and they’re vulnerable to decay right away. Those primary teeth help your child eat nutritious foods and learn to speak clearly. They also provide space so permanent teeth can come in properly. For more information, visit our Your First Visit section.

Teething - It’s never too soon to start good oral health. If your baby is fussy during teething, you can soothe the gums by rubbing them with a clean finger or a cool, smooth spoon. Once the tooth has arrived, clean it with a soft, moist washed cloth. As more teeth come in, use a very soft baby’s toothbrush and a small smear of toothpaste. Once your child has teeth side by side, gently floss between them once a day. Cleaning your baby’s teeth twice a day is an excellent habit to start off a lifetime of beautiful smiles!

Baby Bottle Syndrome - Try to avoid putting your baby to bed with a bottle. Milk and sweet liquids such as juices pool around the baby’s mouth while sleeping and can cause tooth decay, sometimes called baby bottle syndrome. Have your child finish the bottle before you put him or her down, or fill the bottle only with water.

Thumb or Finger Sucking - Children usually stop on their own, but sometimes not before problems arise. If you feel this is a problem, we can help with suggestions about how to encourage your child to set this habit aside.

Fluoride - An important tool in protecting your child’s teeth, it’s important to make sure your baby receives the right amount of fluoride.

To make a good start of a bright, healthy smile, we suggest a visit to your pediatric dentist every six months. For more information about our toddler dentistry program or to set up an appointment, call our office today.

why parents love us

AMAZING STAFF, DOCTORS AND OFFICE!!! I used to take my family to another kids dentist. I had been searching for one closer to home. I am so grateful to have found this office. It's super kid friendly and the Doctor and staff are amazing. It's in the Renaissance Marketplace right off the 210 and Ayala. It's beautiful inside with a theater for the kids and tablets to keep them busy. I'll be returning again soon so I'll provide an update on my return visit. Highly recommended!!!”
